Kaj Auto je to? ..Ta mali športni avto je bil Giant Killer

Ta Južnoafriški športni avto je bil zgrajen med letoma 1958-1964. Eden od ustanoviteljev svoj ' “spotaknil” na steklenih vlaken, tehnologije, medtem ko visting Anglijo 1957. Nov postopek zanimiv človek, in je povabil njegov kmalu partner v Anglijo, da bi obvladali tehniko telesne zgradbe. So prišli v stik z južnoafriško oblikovalec Verster de Wit (, ki je delal na Sunbeam Alpine) , ki so jim pomagali ime svojega prvega avtomobila oblikovanje in naučil proces oblikovanja.

Ko so končno prišli na videz jim je všeč, da je čas za pripravo tega lahki športni avtomobil. Torej, brez denarja in želijo, da se vrnete v Južni Afriki so prodali prvi telesne plesen v Angliji za vstopnice vrnitve letal. V začetku leta 1958 so izdelali svoj prvi serijsko izdelan avtomobil. Uporaba telesnih plesni so ustvarili in lestev okvirjev. Poganja ga motorje bodisi iz Coventry Climax ali Ford Anglia. Kasneje bi lahko nadgradili z modeli 1100 cc 85 konjskih moči motorja iz Ford Cortina

Notranjost so špartanski in enostavna. Poleg center 3 oceniti, senzor ne bi ponudila predal in preprosto Preklopna stikala. Zgodnje avtomobili ne ponudi ogrevalnega sistema. Št problem v Plamen podnebje v Južni Afriki. Kasneje avtomobili so bili izvoženi v Angliji in Kanadi, tako je ponudila osnovni sistem ogrevanja. Z hitrimi vzmetenja in majhna teža je bila uporabljena za dirke. To je popoln combo, ki je “Giant Killer” na dirkališču. Stepanje nepridipravi iz Porsche, Trumph in Austin Healey. Tudi danes ob Vintage SCCA Dogodki to še vedno zmagovalna combo. Na žalost je to kupčija klet dirkač le med 1958-1964 z manj kot 450 sklicevanja. V zadnjem času je bilo podjetje ponovno ustanovljena pod drugim imenom in se je začel ustvarjati to redko športni avto spet. Kaj Auto je to?

Kaj Auto je to?? Ultra Rare Euro GT

Ta ultra redkih GT je bil izdelan med 1957-1962 v dveh različnih znamk, vendar enako ime. Manj kot 400 so bile narejene. Telo je bilo amde iz steklenih vlaken. Okvir delo je bilo izdelano iz aluminija cevnega okvirja prostora. Jih pokaže prefinjeno De Dion prekinitev cevi zadaj..

The car had good performance due to its light weight and race inspired suspension. Still the bodies were poor fitting on the early versions. The high cost of being built by hand proved costly and the sales price was three times that of the TR3. The Phase II models would offer an improved one piece body but costs were still high. V 1961 they received an improved frame and revised dashboards..

V 1961 British car magazine “Motor” tested the car. It posted 0-60 times of 12.6 sekund. Top speed was 112 MPH. They also recorded a very thrifty 27 MPG. It still had a very costly price of 16,000 pounds. Plans were to install an all aluminum 3.5 liter V8 borrowed from Buick. That engine would eventually end up in the hands of Rover and used in Range Rovers for many years.The company closed its doors in 1962 after only a handfull of cars were produced..Kaj Auto je to??

Današnji "Kaj je to Auto??"Quiz

Ta avto Podjetje je bilo ustanovljeno leta 1946. Proizvodnja vozil se je do 2006 Lancashire v Angliji in Blackpool. Znan po svojih bolj lahek, vendar močan športnih avtomobilov na 1960-1970. Od 1960 jih proizvaja športne avtomobile z dirko navdihnila cevnih okvirjev in steklenih vlaken telesa. Pri starosti 14(1937) njen ustanovitelj zapustil šolo delati kot vajenec v lokalni garaži. In 1954 je zasnoval svojo prvo “plastike” ali steklenih vlaken telo več kot prototip cevni okvir. Takšna praksa bi ostal do 1980. Ustanovitelj podjetje zapustil leta 1962 ugotovila, da iz steklenih vlaken, podjetje inženiring,vendar je ostal kot svetovalec do svoje smrti v starosti 85. Skozi leta se uporabljajo motorje od drugih podjetij avtomobila. Od MG štirimi valji,šestvaljni motor Triumph in celo Ford 289 kubičnih palčni V8. Med 1970 bi povzročila, da postane 3. največji neodvisni proizvajalec športnih avtomobilV na svetu. In 2006 Družba je bila prekinjena na manjše dele, da bi zmanjšali stroške v prizadevanju, da ga shranite. Njegova prihodnost negotova reamins. “Kaj Auto je to??”

Današnji "Junk Sem lasti"

1963 Triumph TR4. 

I hate to admit it but I’m a sucker for a hard luck story. Še huje, Jaz sem bedak za lepi obraz. Da je samec celo moje življenje, v mnogih pogledih sem pripravljen stene proti zelo mislil, ljubezni ali vsaj “globoko všeč.”But there she was. You could tell by looking at her that she was abused and alone. She  was about my age.Born in 1963. That would make her 47 or so today. Nice body and what lovely bumpers she has. No sagging. Nice curves and wow what a rear! There was something about her. She had a sparkle in her eye(headlight) and she needed my help. So for the first time in many years I started a new relationship.Who was she? She was a 1963 Triumph TR4. Worth all of the princely sum of $400.00 I paid for her. Solid body and frame. Just what I have been searching for. You see I have a soft spot for rough cars.Anybody with a checkbook and common sense can buy a fully restored car. It takes a real lack of any brain cells to do a project like this. And being as the Mexicans callEL CHEAPOI couldn’t pass up her up. Nothing gives me more pleasure than tearing off some skin on and old rusty bolt. Or the wonderful sound that your lower spine makes when lifting out an engine block or transmission. So with much happiness and fright I went into another restoration project. As usual my plans and life don’t always work out at the same time. The TR4 was sold before I even got a chance to fracture a knuckle..Thinking about that project made me ponder some past not so great projects. Triumphs for all the bad rap they get have always been very good cars for me. All TR6s I have owned have all ran great and proved to reliable with proper care. All these years I have not always had “Creampuffs” So with that in mind we start a new feature in my “On The Road with Johnny B” column  called “What the Hell was I thinking” In no real order.. 

 

..1983 Renault Le-Car. This wonder bomb never made it home.On my trip home I got a flat tire,blew a hole in the heater core melting my new sneakers with scalding water.Almost lost a wheel  and the radio stopped working. Thus inventing a new French word. “Le-Crap-box.

Današnji “Kaj Auto je to??” Kviz

Današnjo “What Auto is This??” Kviz .. Proizvedeno med 1949-1953 .. Ta mali avto je attemp s svojo kavo zgraditi “Upscale Mali avtomobil” Z neverjetno 38 konjskih moči .. nič do šestdeset krat od 26.6 sekunde in najvišja hitrost 63mph to “Upscale” avto ima vse zmogljivosti Rosie O'Donnell na Stairmaster .. vsaj to… “Upscale” kot jedo bele Castles v smoking. “What Auto is This??”

Današnji “Kaj Auto je to?? Kviz

To je bil prvi povojni(WWII)model iz te družbe, potem ko je prevzel veliko večji od dohodkov pravnih oseb .. Zaradi pomanjkanja uporabnih jeklene konstrukcije je bilo več kot pepel ali leseni okvir .. Nekateri so jeklene plošče, medtem ko drugi uporabljajo aluminij .. Powered by 4 valjnih motorjev v razponu od 1766-2088cc .. Niso bili znani po zmogljivosti .. Ta avto maker poskušal nekaj uspeha, da bi kopirali veliko bolj classy Bentleys na dan, vendar njeno počasno delovanje in pomanjkanje kakovosti graditi nikoli ne bi prišel blizu .. Kaj ??

Odgovor na 16. avgust 2011′Kaj je Auto Ta kviz je 1929 Willys Knight Model 70B.Willys Knight bo odprta po svoji 1913 ko je John North Willys kupili Edwards Motor Car Company of Long Island New York .. John Willys bi takoj premakniti svoje na novo kupljene družbe avto Elyria Ohio v 1914 and then to its permanent home in Toledo Ohio in 1915..The Willys Knight was known for itsSleeve Valvetype engine till its demise in model year 1933.Other makers would use sleeve valve engines up till the late 1960s such as Triumph in their TR2,TR3 and Tr4′z. Known for its style and workmanship the Willys Knight name would go to the automotive happy hunting grounds but Willys name would live on till this day in the form of another American icon The Jeep.
