What Auto is This?? ..Be The First With The Correct Answer and Win A Bottle Of Thunderbird or Mad Dog 20/20

Ok folks..If anybody figures this one out they will be receive a bottle of Thunderbird or Mad-Dog 20/20 wine. This make and model were made between 1938-1967. This model was produced between 1945-1952 in three different series.  Produced by the Rootes Group it was considered a large car for its day(today also). Introduced to a car hungry public in Europe 1946. Even though a new body its engine and running gear were carry over from pre WWII.

While most Euro car makers were having a hard time filling demand this car from the start was slated for export.Very popular in Austalia because of its size and speed. It was perfect for the Aussies wide open roads. At one time during the cars history it was produced in New Zealand. Series I(1945-1947) used the new in 1936 2.7 Liter Side-Valve six cylinder engine. Series II(1948-1949) would see updates to both trim and interior with a mighty 4.0 Liter six cylinder also with old school Side-Valves.

     

Series III (1950-1952) would see upgrades to the suspension as well as the 4.0 liter engine with overhead valves. Producing 113 horsepower it could launch the Rhino like car to 91 MPH. Zero to sixty times were a very proper 14.2 seconds. Englands car magazine “The Motor”  tested the car in 1951 and found it to be “stable and stately”. Fuel consumption was a very Royal Like 15.1 MPH that was on an “Imperial Gallon” oh how very British. What Auto is This??
